This dish is a wholesome Assamese style where Banana flower boiled and mashed with fried fish and a Pitika is enjoyed with Masoor Dal and Red rice with a fried fish on the side

Wash the banana flower and cut into half. Add to a pressure cooker and for 2 whistles boil, set aside to depressurize.

Mash the boiled banana flower.

Smear the rohu fish steaks with turmeric powder and salt. In a pan heat 2 Tbsp mustard oil, add the fish and fry

Mash the fried fishes with mashed banana flower
- 5
Add chopped onion, chopped green chillies, salt and mustard oil, mash fine

Plate with red rice, masoor dal, fried fish
Tips
After cutting the banana flower, soak in water to prevent black colour on it
