Ingredients

4-5 servings
  • ・ Ground Chicken…400g
  • ・ Nagaimo (Japanese yam)…50g
  • ・ Lotus root…50g
  • ・ Potato starch…tbsp
  • ・ Cooking sake…1tbsp
  • ・Ginger...1 clove (grated)
  • ・ Salt…1/2 tsp ・Pepper…Desired amount
  • ・Pepper
  • Coating Ingredients
  • ・ Flour…2tbsp
  • ・ Potato starch…2tbsp
  • ・ Baking powder…1tbsp
  • ・Water...4sbsp
  • Sauce
  • ・ Mayo & Ketchup…3tbsp each

Steps

  1. 1

    Put Nagaimos in a plastic bag and crush them by hitting them. Peel off skin of lotus root and chop it.

  2. 2

    Add ground chicken, potato starch, Nagaimo, lotus root, sake, salt and grated ginger in a bowl and mix well. Round them to 8-10 bite-size oval-shaped pieces.

  3. 3

    Mix well the ingredients for coating. Dip the chicken nuggets and fry them thoroughly at 170 degrees until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Mix well mayo and ketchup. Dip the nuggets and enjoy while still hot!
