So good and sometimes I mix alittle softened butter with some of the same herbs and spices including salt and pepper as I place on top of the chicken and I rub it under the skin as well. I let my seasoned chicken sit in the fridge for about 8 hours then I let it rest room temperature for about an hour then cook. You don't have to but I think it helps.

Pre heat oven to 450 degrees and pat chicken dry.

Sprinkle salt and pepper inside chicken and stuff with lemon slices, orange slices, garlic cloves and thyme sprigs and tie legs toghter with kitchen twine and place on a lightly greased wire rack on a high rimmed baking pan

Poke holes in chicken with a toothpick and rub oil on and sprinkle the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, Rosemary, sage, paprika, salt and pepper and place slices of butter on top and bake for about 1 hour occasionally rotating pan and basting till chicken is nice and golden and crispy or till a meat thermometer in the thickest part reaches 165 to 170. Let chicken rest at leat 10 min before carving into.
