These are one healthy Japanese Cakes that every kid will like. I made them in Idli moulds thus giving them an entirely different look but the recipe remains the same. Gorgeous, melt in mouth Cakes that are good for Breakfast or to pack for the Lunchbox or even as a great Brunch idea. In this innovative idea by me, I have used the same recipe of the original steamed Japanese Cakes but made them in Idli moulds as a lovely twist. The whole recipe remains the same. It's absolutely authentic.
Kids and adults both would enjoy these on any day. A perfect afterschool treat for the kids. They would love to gobble them up on any given day. Healthy and wholesome. Nutritious and flavourful. These are just great option for any day. Kids party, weekend special Dessert or even a picnic, it's a lovely option for all of these and many more.
Enjoy Steaming!

Steps
- 1
In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs along with oil, milk and sugar until fluffy.
- 2
Next fold in the dry ingredients like flour and baking powder along with the salt.
- 3
Now stir in the cheese and the corn kernels.
- 4
Grease the idli plates.
- 5
Keep a large vessel ready for steaming with water added to it or an idli cooker.
- 6
Now add a spoonful of the mix into each depression of the idli plates and slowly lower inside the vessel with the boiling water.
- 7
Cover and steam for a good 10 to 12 minutes.
- 8
After 12 minutes, insert a skewer to check whether they are done or not.
- 9
If the skewer comes out clean, it means they are done perfectly well, otherwise steam them for 2 more minutes.
- 10
Serve these yummy cheesy steamed goodies right away with honey or maple syrup or just as it is.
