Ingredients

  1. 2 lbground beef, cooked & drained
  2. 1 packagestaco seasoning (1.25-ounce)
  3. 8 ozsour cream
  4. 8 ozshredded cheddar cheese
  5. 2 cupbiscuit mix
  6. 1 can(4 oz) sliced chopped green chilies or jalapeno peppers
  7. 1green bell pepper, chopped
  8. 1 mediumyellow onion, chopped
  9. 2roma tomatoes, chopped

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 325°.

  2. 2

Brown ground beef and add taco seasoning and water, according to packet instructions; set aside.

  3. 3

In a seperate bowl, combine sour cream, 4 oz cheddar cheese, green chilies and half the onions; set aside.

  4. 4

Stir biscuit mix & 1/2 cup water (directions on box) to form soft dough. Pat dough on the bottom and one-half-inch up the sides of a 9x13 greased casserole dish. Will be pretty sticky, I couldn't get mine to stay up the sides!

  5. 5

Saute remaining onions and bell peppers until slightly tender.

  6. 6

On top of biscuit mix, evenly distribute ingredients in the following order: ground beef, green peppers & onion mixture, tomatoes, sour cream mixture and end with remaining cheddar cheese.

  7. 7

Bake for 30-40 minutes or until edges of dough are lightly browned.

  8. 8

You could also use a cornbread mixture on the bottom instead of the Bisquick.
