This recipe is from my wife's nannie. I make it every Christmas and it goes very fast. It's basicilly a really good tasting fruitcake substitute. It is easy but not quick so take the time to fix it. You will be surprised and amazed. Enjoy. wayne.edwards.5623 -
Applesauce Cake Applesauce Cake
I had some applesauce so I thought of making this. You can substitute applesauce with chopped fruits (dried or fresh) or jam. It is very easy to make, your little ones can help you stirring and adding things to the batter! My kids are not that fond of cinnamon, so I didn't add any. I think a sprinkle of cinnamon on top will give more oomph to this dish. Angela Mertoyono -

Citrus Angel Food Cake Citrus Angel Food Cake
This recipe was given to me by my great aunt Barb.It is so fluffy and soft and has just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. She got the recipe from a church lunch sometime in the 1950s. Boxed cakes were all the rage then according to her. Since she was from RI so I put it as the origin state. Raven -

18 years ago, I made this ring-shaped cake for my family. This recipe is popular as it can be adapted to various arrangements for Christmas. If you are short on time, coat the cake with syrup (boil together 20 g water, 15 g sugar, and 10 g Kirsch). In step 13, sandwich the cream and fruit to create a beautiful finished product. You can also use half the amount chocolate cream if you don't plan to sandwich it. Lemon Kissed Angel Food Cake Lemon Kissed Angel Food Cake
Based on an Alton Brown recipe(https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/angel-food-cake-recipe-1938726)This is an airy, deliciously crumbed cake that is easy to make and easy to eat.I adjusted the original recipe in several ways. I reduced the water to 1/4 cup. Because I wanted to balance the sweetness after reading the comments at Food Network's site, I switched to lemon extract and reduced the sugar by 1/4 cup. And I folded the egg whites into the flour, rather than the other way around.I made this for a neighbor who said she hadn't had a good angel cake in years. She approved. Jim Kennedy -
