Shiitake with Shoyu and Honey

I wanted to make something savory with a meaty flavor. Unfortunately I forgot to thaw the beef, so I just used a load of shiitake. Turned out nice, and my kids love it.

Take the time to caramelize the onion. It really makes a difference.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 250 grshiitake mushrooms, halved
  2. 1onion, peeled, sliced thinly
  3. 1 tbspoil
  4. 2 tbspshoyu
  5. 1 tbsphoney
  6. 2 tbspwater
  7. 1 tbspchopped parsley

Cooking Instructions

    Pour the oil into a pan. Using medium heat, stir-fry the onion until it caramelizes.

    Add shiitake mushrooms. Lower the heat and stir from time to time.

  3. 3

    When shiitake mushrooms have shrunk a bit, add the mixture of shoyu, honey, and water. Stir until well combined.

  4. 4

    Top with chopped parsley. And serve!
