Ingredients

45 mins
12 servings
  1. 2 cupsifted flour or matzah cake meal (for passover)
  2. 2 tspRumford's baking powder or passover baking powder
  3. 1 cupsugar
  4. 1/2 tspsalt
  5. 1egg
  6. 1 cupmilk or milk substitute such as almond milk
  7. 1/2 cupmelted Butter or non dairy margarine
  8. 1 1/2 cupchopped, raw Fruit
  9. 1Additional melted butter to brush over the top after baking. Cinnamon and sugar to sprinkle over the top (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar

  2. 2

    Add egg, milk and butter.

  3. 3

    Mix all to a soft dough, beat well.

  4. 4

    Add fruit

  5. 5

    Turn into a greased pan, ; spread evenly

  6. 6

    Bake in a moderate oven (350) for about 25 minutes.

  7. 7

    Brush over with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
