Ingredients

  • 3/4 cupshortening or butter
  • 1 cupbrown sugar
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1egg
  • 1 tbspwater
  • 1 tspvanilla
  • 1 cupall-purpose flour
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1/2 tspbaking soda
  • 1 tspcinnamon
  • 2 1/2 cupoats
  • 1 cupraisins (optional)
  • 1 cupDark Chocolate Chips (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream shortening and sugars.

  2. 2

    Add egg and water, mix

  3. 3

    Sift together flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Mix into creamed butter mixture.

  4. 4

    Stir in vanilla, oats and raisins or chocolate chips.

  5. 5

    Bake at 350°F for 12 - 15 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

You should definitely grease the cookie pan! Half of mine stuck and crumbled to pieces.
