Ingredients

  1. 1 lbpork (diced)
  2. 1/2 cupolive oil (or oil of your choice)
  3. 6 clovegarlic (or 6 tsp garlic powder)
  4. 1/2 cupflour
  5. 1 tspsalt
  6. 28 ozcan whole peeled tomatoes
  7. 24 ozfrozen green chilies
  8. 4 ozcan diced jalapenos
  9. 6 cupwater
  10. 1/2 cupchicken stock
  11. Thickening
  12. 1/2 cupwater
  13. 2 tbspflour

    Heat the oil on high in a large sauce pot. Brown the pork in the oil until golden brown.

    Add the minced garlic to the pork, lower heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the flour to the pork and brown slightly.

  4. 4

    Put the tomatoes in a blender and pulse until smooth.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes, thawed green chilies, jalepenos, water, and chicken stock to the pork mixture. Bring to a boil and then simmer on medium low for 15 minutes (or longer if you want the pork to become really tender).

  6. 6

    Mix the 2 tablespoons of flour into 1/2 cup of cold water. Add to boiling green chili and allow to thicken for a few minutes.

    Serve over burritos.

I do not recommend adding raw flour to thicken the chili. It will give it a raw flour taste, which is not good. I would thicken it with a little bit of corn starch and water, instead.
