Rutabaga Salad (a low carb protein packed potato salad alternative) Rutabaga Salad (a low carb protein packed potato salad alternative)
Always thinking of ways to keep my diet low carb but still enjoy things at least similar to the "traditional" versions I love. Potato salad is one of my favorite things but I'm still trying to even keep potatoes low on my diet, so in steps rutabaga, which I've used to make fries before and loved, so why not a potato salad substitute? You can add any extra mix-ins you want (I like adding bacon and cheddar cheese too) but this is just the basic starter version.#June2026 StephieCanCook -

Smooth Sweet Potato Cream Smooth Sweet Potato Cream
I love potatoes, so when I see sweet potatoes I always buy them! This is a tasty way to use them up.1) The amount of sweet potato is its weight after being steamed and peeled.2) As for the sugar, I usually add 1/4 the amount of the sweet potato, but this time I wanted to reduce the sweetness, so I used around 1/5. Simple Creamy Butternut Squash Soup Simple Creamy Butternut Squash Soup
It's the weekend before Thanksgiving as I type this, and it's become a seasonal favorite with readers and friends, so I thought it a perfect time to share my butternut squash soup recipe.Omit the thyme, and it makes a great basic recipe to which you can add any fresh or dried herbs or spices to suit your palate and menu.I like to serve the soup with a little fresh cracked black pepper most of the time. A dollop of sour cream or creme fraiche and chopped fresh chives, too, if I want to dress it up a bit.Oh, and you can bake the squash up to a week in advance. x -

Pork Stew with Rutabaga Pork Stew with Rutabaga
I created this for dinner last night and the husband says it's a keeper. The rich stew goes well with a side of rice. I think this tastes even better the next day, after the rutabaga has had a chance to mellow. If you make it let me know! I love to hear what you think about my recipes! Adam Janowski -
Creamy Potato Soup Creamy Potato Soup
My trick to maintaining a smooth and creamy broth without completely breaking down the potatoes and creating a grainy texture is to simply cook the potatoes first, then set them aside while I make the soup base. This is my go-to simple version that I use as a base for multiple possibilities of add-ins. StephieCanCook -
Turnip & Turnip Greens Creamy Simmer Turnip & Turnip Greens Creamy Simmer
I made this thinking of something I could make simply using turnips and turnip leaves. If you cook the turnips beforehand, it shortens the simmering time. It's not that creamy, so it might be a good idea to increase the amount of flour. Recipe by Marumikan.net cookpad.japan
