1 each2 lb. package frozen hash browns, thawed
1/2 cupsoftened butter
1 cancream of chicken soup
2 cupgrated cheddar cheese
1 tspsalt
1 pintssour cream
1/2 cupchopped onion
2 cupcrushed corn flakes
1/4 cupsoftened butter
1 canjalapeno or green chiles (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F

Mix all ingredients, place in buttered (substitute butter with non-stick cooking spray) casserole dish.

Mix the crushed corn flakes and 1/4 cup softened butter together and spread over the top of the casserole.

Bake for 45 minutes.

This will also freeze well before cooking.
