This is a Halloween twist to my spaghetti recipe. I made this last Halloween for my boys and they loved it! Good to make sure they get a good meal before the candy binge! Haha :)

Halloween Eyeballs in Worms (spaghetti & meatballs)

This is a Halloween twist to my spaghetti recipe. I made this last Halloween for my boys and they loved it! Good to make sure they get a good meal before the candy binge! Haha :)

Ingredients

  1. Worms (spaghetti)
  2. 1 lbSpaghetti pasta
  3. 1 can29oz Tomato sauce
  4. 1 envelopeMcCormick Spaghetti seasoning
  5. 1pot of salted pasta water
  6. Eyeballs (meatballs)
  7. 1 1/2 lbLean ground beef- 97/3
  8. 15 eachGreen Olive slices with pimento
  9. 1/2 cupBread crumbs- Italian seasoned or plain
  10. 1 largeEgg
  11. 1 tbspeach- garlic & onion powder
  12. 1 tspeach- salt & pepper
  13. 1non stick cooking spray

Cooking Instructions

    Preheated oven to 350°f

  2. 2

    Place pasta water on high heat to boil. Cook pasta according to package.

  3. 3

    Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with non stick cooking spray.

  4. 4

    In a large bowl combine: ground beef, salt & pepper, garlic & onion powder, egg and bread crumbs.

    Form golf ball sized meatballs and place them on the baking sheet. Press one olive slice directly in center of meatball to make an "eyeball".

    Place eyeballs (meatballs) in oven and cook 30-35 minutes until firm.

    In a sauce pan combine Tomato sauce and McCormick season package. You can add in diced onions and garlic, bell peppers, mushrooms or your favorite spaghetti additions, this is up to you.

    Remove meatballs from oven.

    Combine pasta and sauce, toss, add to serving dish of your choice and arrange "eyeballs" on top of "worms".

    We served with mummy bread (French bead with motzzarella overlapped layered cheese, olive eyes, baked until slightly melted) Enjoy! Happy Halloween!
