Ingredients

  • 2 cupsfresh basil leaves (about 1 large bunch)
  • 3 clovesgarlic
  • 1/2 cuppine nuts (or walnuts)
  • 3/4 cupfreshly grated hard cheese such as Parmigiano-Reggiano
  • 1/2 cupolive oil
  • to tasteKosher salt

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine all the ingredients except the oil and cheeses in a food processor. Pulse until the pesto is blended into a slightly coarse paste.

  2. 2

    Transfer to a bowl and stir in the oil and cheeses.​

  3. 3

    To serve with pasta, you can toss the cooked pasta directly with the pesto.
