Simple Sloppy Joe Toppings on Toast (sandwich)

It's something we ate on a lazy day. Mix, dump in, cook and eat. Could not be simpler! You can add anything else you want - potatoes, button mushrooms, carrots, peas, etc. Traditionally, I think this calls for french fries or oven-baked potatoes. Go for it if that's what you want. I love sloppy Joes and have always just bought the sauce in a can. I saw a recipe on Chili Pepper Madness for making it from scratch and it turned out great. I always prefer my sloppy Joe over angel hair pasta, but it is traditionally served in a bun. fenway -
Homemade Sloppy Joe Homemade Sloppy Joe
The great classic taste but so much healthier than that can of manwhich that you see in the store. Not to mention very customizable. If you like it sweeter, add more brown sugar. If you want it a bit tangy, add a couple of tsp. of apple cider vinegar. Or add some hot sauce for a bit of spice. Christina -

I made this on trick or treat night , it was perfect as we came and went . I kept it in the crockpot and the kids could just get it when they wanted. You can make this on the stove top, crockpot, or instant pot. I had made it the instant pot but put it in my smaller crockpot on low. I will have to double this recipe next time I make it, that’s how big of a hit it was with my picky eaters kids. 🌈NinjaMommaKitchen🌈 -

Homemade Sloppy Joes Homemade Sloppy Joes
I have used this quick and easy recipe countless times. Its not the healthiest but its yummy and not from a can. I say all in moderation right? You can use ground turkey instead of beef and this can be served on rice, noodles, corn bread or mashed potatoes. Want it spicy? Add your favorite hot sauce. I rounded the sandwiches out by serving a healthy salad as the side. (Pinterest) Bridget -
