Steps
- 1
Wash and chop onion and garlic.
- 2
Preheat sauce pan on stove top.
- 3
Keep pan on medium heat.
- 4
Add butter to sauce pan once the pan is hot.
- 5
After the butter has melted add the chopped onions and cook until translucent. (This step depends on how you like your onions cooked. For a more caramelized onion cook your onions a bit longer. Remember the onions will continue to cook through the whole process.)
- 6
After your onions are translucent add the mushrooms, garlic, red cooking wine, red wine vinegar and soy sauce to the pan.
- 7
Cook covered stirring from time to time until the sauce thickens and the mushrooms are the texture you prefer.
- 8
Add more cooking wine, red wine vinegar and butter to the pan as needed if your sauce starts to dry up. Be careful not to add too much at one time. You want your sauce to turn out a little thick.
- 9
Use mushroom sauce as a topping for steak or chicken. It goes great with pasta too!
- 10
Enjoy!
