Ingredients

  1. dry ingredients
  2. 1/2 cupground walnuts
  3. 1/2 cupbread flour
  4. 2 tspbaking powder
  5. 1 pinchsalt
  6. shortening
  7. 2 tbspshortening
  8. liquid
  9. 1/3 cupnonfat milk

20 mins
  1. 1

    preheat oven to 450°

  2. 2

    spray pan with canola oil

  3. 3

    combine dry ingredients until mixed and no lumps

  4. 4

    cut in shortening, making sure that end up with non-uniform sizes of lumps

  5. 5

    make well in center of dry ingredients and pour in milk

  6. 6

    mix with a fork gently only until just combined

  7. 7

    if too moist add a little more bread flour but do not make a stiff dough

  8. 8

    drop by large spoon onto prepared pan

  9. 9

    bake at 450° for 13 to 14 minutes

  10. 10

    serve as soon as possble with cinnamon syrup or butter or honey
