Ingredients

  1. 2 lbground beef, sausage, or turkey
  2. 226 oz jars pasta sauce, any flavor
  3. 2to 3 cups shredded mozzarella
  4. 28 oz cans tomato sauce
  5. 2 clovegarlic, peeled and chopped
  6. 1/2 tsporegano
  7. 2 tspdried basil
  8. 1 tspparsley
  9. 18 oz package oven ready lasagne noodles
  10. Ricotta Filling
  11. 115 oz carton ricotta cheese
  12. 2 tspdried basil leaves
  13. 1 tsporegano
  14. 1 tspdried parsley
  15. 2eggs, lightly beaten
  16. 1 tbspgarlic powder
  17. 1/2 cupparmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

    For ricotta filling mix cheeses, herbs, and egg together in bowl, set aside

    brown meat, drain

  3. 3

    add sauce, chopped garlic, and herbs to meat

  4. 4

    simmer for 15 minutes

  5. 5

    pour 1 cup of sauce in 13 x 9 inch baking pan

  6. 6

    place 3 noodles in pan,

  7. 7

    spread 2/3 cups ricotta mixture evenly over noodles

  8. 8

    spread 3/4 cup of sauce mixture over ricotta

  9. 9

    sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella over sauce

  10. 10

    repeat steps 6thru 10 until all ingredients are used up ending with mozzarella

  11. 11

    cover with foil, bake for 30 minutes

    remove foil, bake additional 10 minutes until hot and bubbly

  13. 13

    let stand 10 minutes before cutting

    FOR MICROWAVE :

    using microwave safe dish repeat as directed above, except omit top layer cheese

  16. 16

    cover with plastic wrap

  17. 17

    microwave on high 10 to 15 minutes

    remove plastic wrap, add top layer cheese

  19. 19

    microwave on high 3 to 5 minutes until bubbly

  20. 20

    serve and enjoy.

    an equivalent measure of meat and /or cheese substitute may be used for a vegetarian dish.
