I get a little tired of the regular side dishes, so I like to rotate in dressing for an everyday meal. I like it especially with roast chicken or pork chops/roast. I make this frequently with my cranberry pork roast and honey glazed carrots (both recipes on my profile).

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupCelery, diced
  2. 1 cupOnion, diced
  3. 2 cupApples: peeled, cored & diced
  4. 1/2 cupButter or margarine
  5. 3 cupChicken or veggie broth
  6. 14 ozSeasoned bread cubes, I used a sage and onion pepperidge farms brand
  7. 1 tspDried sage or up to 1/4 cup chopped fresh sage

    Sauté the diced veggies and apple in the butter and herbs until soft.

    Add the broth and heat until warmed.

  3. 3

    Place the bread cubes in a large mixing bowl.

  4. 4

    Ladle the broth mixture over the bread and stir so it is evenly distributed.

  5. 5

    Place stuffing in a large casserole dish sprayed with oil spray.

  6. 6

    Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes depending on your preference. I like mine a little crunchier so I go about 45 minutes. I also do mine uncovered, but if you like it softer and moister, cover with a lid or foil.
