Steps

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg.

Chill dough and roll into balls the size of whole walnuts.

Roll into the separate cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Sift dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.

Bake 8 to 10 min on moderately high heat (350-400*F) until lightly browned but still soft.

These cookies puff at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.
