Ingredients

12 servings
  1. 1 cantomato soup
  2. 2 1/2 cupflour
  3. 1 1/3 cupcastor sugar
  4. 4 tspbaking powder
  5. 1 tspbicarbonate of soda
  6. 1 1/2 tspallspice
  7. 1 tspcinnamon
  8. 1 dashground cloves
  9. 1 dashground ginger
  10. 125 gramsbutter
  11. 2eggs beaten
  12. 1/2 cupcrushed walnuts
  13. 1/2 cupsliced glace cherries
  14. 1/2 cupchopped dates
  15. 1/2 cupwater

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 180c. Grease 2x20 cm pans

  2. 2

    Sift dry ingredients into large bowl, add Tomato soup and butter. Beat at low speed for 2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Pour into prepared cake pans and bake for 35-40 minutes. allow to stand10 minutes before removing. Ames from pans.

  4. 4

    Add eggs, water and beat a father 2 minutes.

  5. 5

    Pour into prepared cake pans and bake for 35-40 minutes. allow to stand 10 minutes before removing cakes from pans.
