Ingredients

Serves 1 serving
  1. 15large raw shrimp
  2. 1/2lemon
  3. 3 slicesangelica root (dang gui)
  4. as neededGoji berries,
  5. 3/4 cupShaoxing wine (200 ml)
  6. as neededIce cubes,
  7. 1 2/3 cupswater (400 ml)
  8. Seasonings
  9. 1 teaspoonsalt
  10. About 1 tablespoon fish sauce (20 ml)

Steps

    Rinse the shrimp, trim the whiskers, and devein. Cut the lemon into pieces. Rinse the goji berries and angelica root, then drain well.

  2. 2

    In a large bowl, combine the Shaoxing wine, ice cubes, water, goji berries, and angelica root.

  3. 3

    Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the lemon, salt, and shrimp. Cook for about 1 1/2 minutes, then remove the shrimp and place them in the prepared Shaoxing marinade. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate overnight before serving.
