blend shortening and sugar with pastry cutter. add eggs, almond, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt

add coloring and mix in flour.

refrigerate until firm - usually overnight

roll into balls, roll in cinnamon sugar than pat in colored sugar

bake for 8-10 minutes
