Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1/3 cupsugar
  2. 1 tbspcornstarch
  3. 1 1/4 cupheavy cream
  4. 1 1/4 cupmilk
  5. 2 tbspfreshly brewed coffee
  6. 3 tbspunsalted butter
  7. 7 ozbittersweet chocolate, chopped
  8. 1vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  9. 1/2 tspground cinnamon (I use Ceylon)
  10. 1Dippers
  11. 1banana slices
  12. 1strawberries
  13. 1marshmallows
  14. 1toasted cubes of pound cake
  15. 1Pineapple chunks
  16. 1bing cherries
  17. 1fried wonton wrappers

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, whisk together sugar and cornstarch to blend.

  2. 2

    Slowly whisk in the cream, then the milk, coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla bean.

  3. 3

    Pour the mixture into a stainless steel saucepan and gently bring to a boil over medium low heat.

  4. 4

    Cook, whisking constantly until thickened, about 4 minutes.

  5. 5

    Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in the chocolate and butter until melted.

  6. 6

    Pour through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl and discard any solids

  7. 7

    Pour into a warmed fondue pot and serve immediately with assorted dippers.

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
