I was always buying hummus so I decided to try making it. It is more art than science. My first attempt wasn't very good because I didn't put enough tahini in it. The tahini is very important. Anyway, this is the basic recipe but you can do so many things to make it more interesting. I added some olive tapenade to one batch and it was great. You could also put some different savory spices in it and it would probably be great. Paprika would probably be pretty good.

  1. 1 canchickpeas
  2. 3 tbsptahini
  3. 2 tbspolive oil
  4. 1 clovegarlic, finely chopped
  5. 2 tbsplemon juice

  1. 1

    Drain and rinse the chickpeas and add to the food processor. Add everything else and blend. If it is too dry just add a little bit of water a teaspoon at a time until you get a smooth consistency. Just don't add too much. That's how I ruined the first batch.
