Stuffed Grape Leaves (Mahshi or Malfouf)

Stuffed Grape Leaves (Mahshi or Malfouf)
Steps
- 1
Grate the onions and mix them with all the spices by hand. Then, put them on the stove with the butter. Let them cook for a while, then add the tomatoes and let them simmer well.
- 2
Next, add the rice and keep stirring until there's no liquid left in the mixture. Add a final touch of spices on top.
- 3
Add the cilantro, turn off the heat, and stir a little. Place the mixture in a tray and start stuffing the grape leaves until finished.
- 4
Finally, when cooking the grape leaves, add extra water as they need it. It's best to place a stainless steel plate on top of the leaves to keep them from opening during cooking.
