I have been following the trends for 2018 in regards to cooking, not only for the Greek Cuisine but all cuisines and baking…there is one that I am so interested in trying…(The Japanese Cheese Cake), but some I am thinking No, due to lack of ingredients. 🙂 Some are just absolutely beautiful….have you seen the new trends for cupcake design just so pretty. 🙂

Due to the cold front I mentioned the other day I have not been to the supermarket and so I went back into my pantry this morning and came out with ingredients for a really nice if I may use the word Vintage recipe for Marble Cake…:) Chocolate and Vanilla swirled together to make this simple but yet delicious cake which I think most of us do love to eat. 🙂

Ingredients

  1. 250 gramsButter (at room temp)
  2. 2 1/2 cupAll Purpose Flour
  3. 1 cupSugar
  4. 1/2 cupButtermilk
  5. 2 1/2 teaspoonsBaking Powder
  6. 1/4 teaspoonBaking Soda
  7. 1 teaspoonSalt
  8. 2 tablespoonVanilla Extract
  9. 1/4 cupMilk
  10. 4Eggs
  11. 200 gramsPure Chocolate (Bittersweet) or Semi Sweet Chocolate

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl add butter, sugar and eggs and mix until combined. (my hand mixer stopped working during this process so I had to start over. I just added all the ingredients together and beat by hand).. In a separate bowl add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and whisk. Add the Vanilla extract, buttermilk, milk into the butter and sugar mixture and continue to beat until smooth. Start adding the dry ingredients slowly into the butter mixture, and continue to beat until it has be

  2. 2

I used pure chocolate for this cake..

  3. 3

I popped it into the microwave for 2 minutes. Set aside to cool.

  4. 4

Separate the batter into two parts…add one part into the chocolate and mix.

  5. 5

In a buttered bundt pan or tin pan, start by adding one part chocolate, then one part vanilla..Then on top of the vanilla batter top with chocolate batter, so basically you are alternating the batters.

  6. 6

Use a knife or a skewer and just swirl around so both chocolate and vanilla batter combine, but not to much but just enough as shown in the picture above…and that’s it.

Bake at 180 degrees for 1 hour or depending on your oven….once baked let it cool off completely and turn over on a cake platter or dish and enjoy with a nice cup of coffee or tea.

(I hope things go smoother with your machines, mine just stopped so working by hand was a bit tiring for me).
