Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 500 gmchicken cut into the pieces
  2. 100 gmdried apricots
  3. 2 tablespoonsoil
  4. 5no green cardamom
  5. 1 inchcinnamon stick
  6. 3no of onion chopped
  7. 2 tablespoonsginger and garlic paste
  8. 2medium size chopped tomato
  9. 1 teaspoonred chilli paste
  10. 1 pinchturmeric powder
  11. to tasteSalt
  12. 1 teaspoonsugar
  13. 2 tablespoonsmalt vinegar
  14. 6 tablespoonssalli (thinly cut potato and deep fried)

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the apricots in one cup of boiling water till they are soft.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a pan add green cardamom and cinnamon and saute till fragrant.

  3. 3

    Add the onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic paste and continue to saute.

  4. 4

    Add the tomatoes and fry well.

  5. 5

    Now add the Chicken pieces and fry well.

  6. 6

    Then add the turmeric powder and red chilli paste mix well now add one cup of water. Mix properly then add the sugar.

  7. 7

    Cover and cook till the chicken is almost done. Add the apricots and simmer for two minutes.

  8. 8

    Add the vinegar and simmer for five minutes or till the chicken is cooked completely.

  9. 9

    Transfer the chicken into a serving dish, garnish with the potato salli.

    Serve JARDALOO SALLI MURG is Bread, Plain Rice or Chapaties are excellent accompaniment.
