Ingredients

16 - 20 mahamri
  1. 3 Cupsflour
  2. Halfa cup sugar
  3. 1 tbspplain yoghurt (optional)
  4. 1quarter tsp ground cardamon powder
  5. 1 tbspyeast
  6. halfa tsp ghee/butter or 1/4 cup hot oil
  7. 1-1quarter cup milk
  8. Oil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, add everything except milk.

  2. 2

    Mix for a few minutes then add milk.

  3. 3

    Knead until the dough is nice and soft.

  4. 4

    Cut into 4 - 5 pieces and shape into balls.

  5. 5

    Cover and let rise.

  6. 6

    Roll each ball and cut into 4 quarters

  7. 7

    In a karai or pan add the oil for frying and place on medium heat.

  8. 8

    When the oil is hot, add the quarters and start frying one side and flip to the other side, remove from the heat when golden brown.

  9. 9

    Enjoy with tea!
