Ingredients

  1. 7fillets of talapia fish cleaned and deveined
  2. as neededWater
  3. to tasteSalt
  4. handfulfreshly chopped coriander leaves
  5. 1 tablespoontomato paste/purée
  6. Oil to deep fry+2 teaspoon oil for the curry
  7. For fish ball marinade:
  8. 1 teaspoonspicy curry powder
  9. 1 teaspoonoil
  10. 1/2 teaspoonRed Chilli powder
  11. For Peri Peri curry:
  12. 1large onion chopped roughly
  13. 2dried red chillies broken (desseded)
  14. 1 teaspoonregular/balsamic vinegar
  15. 1 tablespoonoil
  16. 1.5 tablespoonoregano powder
  17. 5garlic pearls chopped roughly
  18. 3 tablespoonwarm water

Steps

    Chop the fish fillets into smaller pieces

  2. 2

    Blend them into a paste/a thick mass, using a mixer

  3. 3

    Add all the ingredients for the marinade and keep covered for an hour. (For best results marinade the day before and leave in the fridge overnight)

  4. 4

    Grease you palms with some oil roll the marinated fish into lemon sized balls

  5. 5

    Heat oil in a wok and gently fry the fish balls for 2-3 minutes only.(do not overfry them, as they tend to become hard when overfried.)

    Keep the fried fish balls aside

  7. 7

    Blend all the ingredients listed under Peri Peri paste without any water

  8. 8

    Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a wok

  9. 9

    Add the Peri Peri sauce paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat till the oil separates

  10. 10

    Season with salt and mix well

  11. 11

    When the mix starts leaving the sides of the pan, add the fried fish balls by gently tossing them in the curry

  12. 12

    Add amount of water and bring it to a boil

  13. 13

    Reduce heat and cook covered until the fish ball poof up in size and the curry thickens to your desired consistency

    Before taking of heat add tomato paste and mix well

    Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or any breads of your choice
