The perfect accompaniment to your meal.Daal is cheap,delicious and healthy and is the perfect protein comfort food . The tarka daal preparation is very easy.
Steps

Heat oil /ghee in a cooker.Heat on high flame add onion slices and cook till golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste,red chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder and some water and cook.

Add soaked daal and cook for 2 minutes and add water.

And pressure cook the lentils for one whistle.keep a side. And add garam masala powder.

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Serve tadka daal hot with steamed jeera rice The daal also goes well with rotis and naans.
