Mix the flour with the baking powder.

Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla or cinnamon. Add the eggs one by one, beating continuously.

Add the sifted flour mixture and raisins; fold until you get a homogeneous dough.

Form the tamales by placing a bit of the dough in each corn husk. Wrap and place in a steamer. Cook for 1 hour or until the tamale easily separates from the husk.
