Steps

Heat oil and add garlic to saute pan, until translucent

Cut tomatoes into quarter pieces

Add tomatoes with juices to saute pan

Add sugar, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes

Cook 5-8 minutes

Remove from heat, blend until smooth (I use a strainer over a fresh pot or bowl and press/scrape pulpy tomato mixture with a wooden spoon against strainer mesh - helps to remove seeds and tomato skins. Transfer strained tomato juices back to sauté pan)

Add Sambuca, cream, and basil

Cook for 5 min- adding flour and butter mixture to sauce, whisk until it thickens

Add cooked pasta of choice to pan, saute for 1-2 min
