Ingredients

30 minutes
5 servings
  1. 2 cupssoya chunks
  2. 1 cupthick Coconut milk
  3. 1 cupthin Coconut milk
  4. 1/2 teaspoonLemon juice
  5. 1Green Chilies slit optional
  6. 1 teaspoongaram Masala
  7. 1/2 teaspoonMustard Seeds
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. 10-12Curry Leaves
  10. 1 teaspoonGinger garlic paste
  11. 1Onion chopped finely
  12. 2Tomatoes finely chopped
  13. 1/2 teaspoonTurmeric
  14. 1/4 teaspoonPepper
  15. 2 tbspCoconut oil
  16. To Roast and grind
  17. 3-4dry Red Chilli
  18. 1 tbspCoriander seeds
  19. 6-7Curry Leaves
  20. 1/3 cupgrated Coconut
  21. 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  22. 1/4 teaspoonFennel Seeds
  23. 1 tbspCoconut oil

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat oil, add all ingredients except coconut mentioned under roast and grind section. Roast until aromatic

  2. 2

    Add grated coconut and saute until golden brown. Allow to cool completely. Grind with water to form smooth paste

  3. 3

    Boil water with salt. Switch off. Add soya chunks. Rest for 20 minutes

  4. 4

    Drain and squeeze excess water. Keep it aside

  5. 5

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds. Add onions and curry leaves. Saute until tender

  6. 6

    Add green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Saute until raw aroma goes away

  7. 7

    Add tomatoes and cook until tender

  8. 8

    Add ground paste and spice powders salt. Cook until oil starts leaving sides

  9. 9

    Add soya Chunks. Coat well with masala.add thin coconut milk. Bring to boil. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  10. 10

    Add lemon juice and mix well. Add thick coconut milk. Stir and switch off. Cover and rest for 20 minutes

  11. 11

    Serve hot with roti or appam
