Wash the daal and soak in water for 3-4 hours.

Drain the daal and keep aside.

In a pan, heat some oil and saute finely chopped garlic.

Now add in the drained daal, salt, red chilli powder as per taste and cook for 5 minutes till the daal is cooked. Switch off the flame, allow the dal to cool down.

Put the daal in the blender and blend coarse. Transfer to a bowl.

To this, add chaat masala, amchur, bread crumbs and form a dough. Add water if needed.

Take a small portion of dough, make a bal and flatten to make tikkis.

Pan fry or deep fry as per your choice.

Serve hot with chutney.
