Steps

Firstly marinate fish with salt and turmeric powder and keep aside.

Brinjal pieces coat with salt and turmeric powder and deep fry in mustard oil and keep aside.

In a same pan add mustard oil and shallow fry the hilsha fish and keep aside.

In a same pan add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed and allow to crackle. Add ginger paste cumin powder, turmeric and kashmiri red chilli powder and saute till the raw aroma disappear. Add green chilli and mustard seed paste and saute for a while. Add hot water 1 cup and also add fish and boil for 5 -10 min.

Hilsha begun is ready to be served.
