Kunu is one of the traditional drink in Northern part of Nigeria.In many villages Kunu is use in an event. Ingredients

  1. 4 cupsmillet
  2. 1 cupsugar
  3. Powdered milk
  4. Powdered milk
  5. Zobo leaves 2 cups
  6. Lemon
  7. Cloves
  8. 3fresh ginger
  9. Water

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak the millet for 5 hours,drain the water and add fresh ginger.

    Blend together with little amount of water to get thick consistency

  3. 3

    Pour the batter into a bowl and add water to get a watery consistency. Using a sieve,sieve the batter and leave overnight for the thick batter to settle at the bottom.

    Gently pour in the water that appear at the top leaving the thick batter

    In a bowl, add in the washed zobo leaves,ginger,cloves,slice lemon and water

    Bring the water to boil and quickly transfer into the batter using a sieve to collect the zobo leaves.

  7. 7

    Add sugar,and milk to your taste.It can be serve hot with hot spicy akara or bread who when chilled
