In a bowl mix sugar, salt, baking powder, butter, eggs and milk until well combined

Add in flour and mix well until combined. The dough should be soft but firm not sticky. Add either flour if it's too sticky or a tablespoon of milk at a time if too dry. Cover and let it rest for 30mins

Working half the dough at a time, roll out to about 1/2inch thickness and cut using a donut cutter. I used a glass and for the inside hole a bottle top

Fry the donuts in hot oil at medium heat until golden brown. Serve with hot tea
