Mix sugar with butter/margarine. I used melted to quicken the process.

Add egg. I used half on it - then vanilla essence.

Fold in your flour.

Add chocolate chips.

If you find it too soft set it in the fridge for about 10 -15mins - other proceed to shape as desired.

Bake for 15-18/20mins till brownish.
