The seed and the laeves are also edible.

Ingredients

  1. 0.5 kgT-Bone meat
  2. 1 piecechayote
  3. 2large onions
  4. 2large tomatoes
  5. 1tablespoonful garlic paste
  6. 1tablespoonful ginger paste
  7. 0.5teaspoonful turmeric powder
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. 3tablespoonful Cooking oil
  10. 1teaspoonful of Royco Mchuzi Mix (or 3 Royco Cubes optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    This is the Chayote fruit. Wash and slice it, remove the seed (the seed is also edible, keep it if you may, slice it and fry the same as you do the groundnuts). You can cook with the seed too without removing it.

    Wash and chop your meat into the size of your choice. Put is in a Sufuria with half a glass of water. Add the ginger and the turmeric. Mix, cover with a lid and let is set for 30 minutes.

    Cook the meat until tender and all the soup dries up (or drain the soup in a cup to use it later)

    Add the garlic and cook them for 2 minutes.

    Add the onions and cook them till soft and/or brown.

    Add your tomatoes and cook them till soft to make a gravy.

    Add the Chayote, mix them by stiring for 2 minutes.

    Add a half a glass of water. Cook them for 5 to 8 minutes and test for doneness by piercing them with the fork.

    Add 1 teaspoonful of Royco Mchuzi Mix in a quarter a glass of water and add the mixture in the meat. Cook them for 3 to 5 minutes and remove from heat. Serve with a dish of your choice. Enjoy😎
