Gather your ingredients.

Clean the calamari and season with salt. Add the lemon juice and ouzo. Place in the refrigerator to marinate for 1 hour.

Drain the calamari and coat well with flour. Heat the oil. Shake off any excess flour and fry the calamari. Do not overcrowd the pan to keep the oil hot. When adding or removing calamari from the pan, hold the pan over the heat. The calamari will be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
