Ingredients

6 servings
  • 125 groom temperature butter
  • 3/4 cupcastor sugar
  • 2eggs
  • 1 tspvanilla essence
  • 1 1/2 cupsflour
  • 2 tspbaking powder
  • Pinchsalt
  • 1/2 cupmilk (125ml)

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream butter and sugar until creamy and light.
    Add in eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add in vanilla essence and combine.

  2. 2

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt separately and stir together.
    Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture alternately with milk.
    Beat until combined and no flour lumps remain.

  3. 3

    Pour into a greased loaf tin (I lined with grease-proof paper).
    Bake at 180°C for 40-45mins.
