Stuffed bittergourds
Steps

Peel the outer skin of karelas / Bittergourd. Reserve it. Make a slit longitudinally and scoop out the inner flesh. Rub some salt on the inner and outer covering and keep aside.

Chop the onions and the skin and inner flesh. If possible grind it coarsely. Squeeze out water.

Heat half oil in a pan. Squeeze the bittergourds and add in oil. Fry till they change colour. In the remaining oil add jeera..later the ground mixture and turmeric powder and salt and red chilli powder. Mix well and cook till the mixture is tender. Remove from heat and keep aside.

With help of spoon stuff the filling in the bittergourd shells. Fasten with thread.

Heat remaining oil and fry the stuffed bittergourds till tender. Remove the thread and serve with chapatis
