Chiroti is a very delicious crispy snack that can be made with very few ingredients. A perfect tea time snack. I made it without sugar syrup to make it light.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Add all purpose flour and semolina to a mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix well and add 2 tablespoon hot ghee and mix.
- 3
Add beaten yoghurt and mix again to form a crumbly texture.
- 4
Now by adding water in batches make a semi solid dough. I use approximately 1/2 cup of water.
- 5
Cover the dough and keep aside for 1/2 an hour.
- 6
In the meantime take soft ghee and cornflour in a bowl.
- 7
Mix well to make a paste.
- 8
Take out the dough in a working surface and knead again for few minutes.
- 9
Divide the dough into 6 or 9 portions.
- 10
Take each portion and roll to make a thin roti.
- 11
Spread 1 tablespoon prepared paste to the roti evenly.
- 12
Roll another roti and spread it over the previous roti (over the spreaded paste).
- 13
Again spread some paste over the second layer.
- 14
Place one more roti (final) over the spreaded ghee paste.
- 15
Finally spread some paste on the top layer.
- 16
Now press the layers with your fingers so that they stick nicely and then start rolling from one side.
- 17
Roll it completely to make a log.
- 18
Now with a knife cut the log into 1/2 inches pieces.
- 19
Take each piece and roll it like a puri. You can see a lot of layers.
- 20
Like this make all the chirotis.
- 21
Deep fry 4-5 chirotis in medium heat oil in batches until light golden brown.
- 22
Fry them slowly in medium heat so that they become crispy. Transfer them to an absorbant paper.
- 23
Take in a serving plate and dust some icing sugar or powder sugar over the chirotis. You can also dip them in sugar syrup. Store them in air tight container and serve as needed.

Mishti Singara: Sweet Samosas Stuffed with Kheer and Khoya Mishti Singara: Sweet Samosas Stuffed with Kheer and Khoya
While traditional samosa or singara (that's what we Bengalis call it) are filled with a spicy potato filling, this one comes with a sweet filling made of reduced milk, milk solids and semolina, laced in sticky sugar syrup. The filling can also be made of chhana or cottage cheese, but I like the kheer version more. The given proportion yields around 40 small samosas or 30 large ones.See more on my blog post here: http://www.allthatsdelicious.com/mishti-singara-recipe Lets Talk Food -

Mishti Chire Bhaja (Sweet Fried Beaten Rice) Mishti Chire Bhaja (Sweet Fried Beaten Rice)
#5ing - Chire Bhaja (Fried Beaten Rice / Poha) in general is a very popular Bengali snack. They can either be savoury or sweet. This is the latter version. I have very fond memories regarding this particular recipe. As a child this snack was a regular feature in my house. My late mom would dish out this in a ziffy, especially as an evening snack whenever I used to have hunger pangs. So preparing this after ages.It is very simple and a yummy snack. Just mix the fried beaten rice with some fresh grated coconut, mixed chopped nuts and some sugar. You are done and ready to savour it. For a healthier version, you can skip the sugar and add some raisins or chopped dates. So do give it a try and I'm sure you'll love it. Bethica Das -

A dessert by accident 😄😄 I kept the milk to boil when having breakfast and happily forgot about it. When I checked in the kitchen, it had boiled down to half it's quantity and thickened! So thought of making the most of the situation and made this yummy dessert.Am quite happy and proud of myself for this dish and the picture I clicked. 😄Entering this for the food photography contest#CookClickSoumya Pai
