This is a perfect tea time snack and can be prepared well ahead and shallow fried and served hot with a cup of tea. Potato is used for binding.Adding grated carrot or steamed beans etc is optional.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cuppoha
  2. 1potato boiled or steamed
  3. 1 tspcoconut chips chopped
  4. 1onion chopped
  5. 1 tspginger paste
  6. 1green chilli chopped
  7. 1/4th tsp red chilli powder
  8. 2 tbspwhite sesame seeds
  9. 1/2 tspsugar
  10. To tastesalt
  11. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  12. 1 tsplemon juice

Cooking Instructions

    Wash poha and drain out excess water in a strainer.Steam or boil a potato,peel and mash.Drain water completely from poha and mash well.Add chopped green chilli,chopped coriander leaves,finely chopped onion,ginger paste,salt and sugar to taste,lemon juice and chopped coconut.Other steamed veggies of your choice may be added.Mash all.Smear little oil in palm and make cylindrical or flat cutlets.Spread 2 tbsp white sesame seeds and toss the cutlets in it.

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a nonstick pan and shallow fry all the cutlets.Serve hot with onion rings.
