Ingredients

  1. for chicken shawarma
  2. 200 gmsboneless chicken
  3. 1 tspgarlic paste
  4. 1 tspolive oil
  5. 1 tspcumin
  6. 1 tspchilli powder
  7. 1 tspall spices
  8. 1 pinchturmeric
  9. 2 pinchescinnamon powder
  10. 1 tsppepper
  11. 2 tbspgreek yoghurt
  12. as neededsalt
  13. forbread (roti)
  14. 2 tspinstant yeast
  15. 1 tspsugar
  16. 1 cupwarm water
  17. 1/2 cupwarm whole milk
  18. 3 cupbread flour
  19. 1 tspsalt
  20. 1 tbspmelted butter
  21. for garnishing
  22. 1onion layer
  23. 1tomato deseeded
  24. 2 tspwhite sauce or mayonnaise
  25. 2 tsptomato sauce

Cooking Instructions

    Preparation for chicken shawarma. Take a bowl and mix chicken and all the ingredients for marination. add lemon juice, salt.

    Marinade chicken with the mix. cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hrs or overnight.

    Making chicken shawarma. heat a pan with olive oil on a high heat. when the pan is hot. place the chicken and flip to cook on all the sides evenly.

    When the chicken is tender cooked, shred it on the pan with a wooden spoon. cook further for 2 mint. Set this aside.

    Making bread. in a large bowl mix all the ingredients and flour until well combined. gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough is formed. cover the dough with a kitchen towel. let it rise until doubled for 1-2 hrs.

    Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. cover the pieces with a towel and let them rest for 15 mins on a lightly floured counter, roll the dough about 1/8 inch thick into a large circle,about 7-8 inches in diameter.and heat up non stick griddle or pan to medium heat.look for the right amount of heat that will cook the bread in 2-3 min max. per side. not hot enough and your bread can turn out dry. your bread is ready. You can store in freeze for up to 1 month and reheated gently.

    Making wrap roll. spread tomato sauce on bread and mayonnaise also spread on bread. place lettuce and the chicken, onion,tomatoes and again mayonnaise and roll it up like this.
