Fried Pickles with honey mustard dipping sauce

Deep fried pickles are an addictive finger food perfect for any get together you’re hosting whether it’s game night, movie night or cocktails with friends. If you’ve never tried deep fried pickles, it’s time to try these out for yourself.
They probably do sound a little odd to those of you that have never thought of frying a pickle and I’ll admit that I was skeptical at first too. But let me tell you with their crispy, salty outside and tangy inside these little devils are down right addictive and would vanish from the plate in seconds.
Note- A 'pickle' as is called in USA and Canada, is a cucumber that had been pickled in brine, vinegar, or other solutions and left to ferment for a period of time. In this recipe, I have used Dill pickles.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Take out the refrigerated pickles. Spread them on a clean kitchen towel and Pat them dry.
- 2
In a plate take 2 Tb Maida. Coat each pickle slice with Maida and keep aside, taking care that they are placed separately and not stacked.
- 3
In a bowl mix remaining Maida, cornflour, salt, pepper, baking powder, seasonings and garlic powder. Add soda little by little and mix continuously to make a medium thick, smooth batter.
- 4
In a plate spread the bread crumbs. Heat oil in a wok or karahi.
- 5
Now take Maida coated pickles, one at a time and dip them in the batter.Allow the slice to drop off any excess batter. Then coat well with bread crumbs and then deep fry on medium heat, till crisp and golden brown from both sides.
- 6
Drain on a paper towel and serve hot with dipping sauce.
- 7
For dipping sauce. Mix all ingredients well for the sauce and serve with fried pickles. This sauce goes well with all finger foods.
- 8
Tip- Can use beer instead of soda. Can even use beaten egg for dipping the pickles instead of Maida batter before coating with bread crumbs.
