These are very simple to make, and so delicious.

In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, cardamon and sugar.

Melt the margarine and allow it to cool.

Make a well at the center of the flour mixture and pour in the melted margarine.

Add in vanilla essence, and give it a good mix.

Crack in the eggs one at a time and mix.

Add in the 2 tbsp of milk and begin to knead the dough.

Knead dough for about 5 minutes until soft. You will know you've reached the right consistency when you press gently on the dough and it sort of bounces back slowly.

Cover and let sit for about 5-10 minutes

Transfer the dough onto a dusted work surface and knead it slightly. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out the dough into a quater inch thickness.

Cut out the dough into doughnut shape using a cookie cutter. Cover the cut outs and allow them to sit another 5 minutes.

Heat enough oil for deep frying over medium heat then fry the doughnuts until golden brown. About a minute on each side.

Drain off excess oil, allow to cool then serve. You can garnish the doughnuts however you please.
