In a small bowl, add the warm water, 1 tablespoon yeast, pinch of sugar and stir, cover it for 10 minutes.

In a big bowl, add the dry ingredients together, make a well at the centre and add the proof yeast, egg, melted butter and mix it thoroughly.

Knead the dough for 20 min until the dough is elastic and smooth. Grease a bowl with butter, put the dough in the bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise for 1hr or until double in size.

Flour your work surface and place the dough, roll it out and cut it with doughnuts cutters. Flour a tray and the place the doughnuts and allow it to rise until double in size

Heat the oil in a deep fryer (the oil shouldn’t be too hot) put the doughnuts carefully inside the oil. Fry on both side until golden brown.

Once the doughnuts are cool to handle roll them in granulated sugar. Enjoy😋😁❤️
