Soak the channe overnight. Drain out the excess water. Add soaked channe in the pressure cooker.Add 4-5 cups of water along with salt, soda bicarb, teabags.Give two whistles and then cook on sim flame for 15 min.off the flame.

For tempering... heat oil.Fry onions till golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste and then the tomatoes till the oil separates.

Add salt again,and all the other spices. Cook for half a minute.

Put the boiled channe after mashing them a little.Add tamarind paste.Add water if required after checking the consistency.

Cook on slow flame covered for 5-10 min.

Garnish with chopped onion, green chillies, tomatoes and ginger julians.
